How the Green Pea Processing Plant Works

Fresh green peas are first fed into the de-podding machine where peas are separated from pods. The peas are then washed thoroughly to remove mud, dust, stones, leaves and other foreign particles.

The cleaned peas are blanched to improve shelf life and immediately cooled before entering the IQF Freezing System. The IQF Freezer freezes peas rapidly at
-20°C, preserving freshness, colour, texture and nutritional value.
Finally, the frozen peas are weighed, packed and prepared for storage or export.
